Job Title: Site Supervisor - Commercial Division Salary: TBD based on skills, qualifications and experience of the applicant Job Type: Full time Location: GTA Job overview: One of the fastest growing companies in the industry with a young dynamic management with a sustainable growth vision looking for an experienced, energetic and ambitious Site Supervisor with excellent communication skills to manage on site commercial construction projects; to assist the Project manager delivering projects on time, budget with the highest quality by supervising and coordinating the on-site activities from start to finish. They will also help establish, document and implement policies and procedures that will help better manage projects and ensure highest quality and safest workmanship. Job Description: 1. Use effective verbal and written communication skills. 2. Read and understand plans and specifications. Visualize two-dimensional drawings in three dimensions. 3. With regard to that portion of the work assigned, develop complete understanding of contract plans and specifications. 4. Examine/inspect field conditions and identify problems, inaccuracies, and cost saving measures that arise or that may be encountered. Take corrective actions as needed. 5. Listen to directions and suggestions from supervisors or other employees regarding safe and proper work practices. Evaluate that information to devise and implement a plan based on the evaluation for carrying out the duties of this position. 6. Observe functioning of installed equipment or systems to determine hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement. 7. Identify workplace safety hazards and take all necessary corrective action to eliminate or minimize them. 8. Produce quality work, meeting requirements of plans, specifications and industry standards. 9. Be motivated and work productively. 10. Become thoroughly knowledgeable with the project’s contract documents, drawings, specifications and scope of work. 11. Manage document control; receive and log in new issue drawings and other contract documents; maintain document control log. 12. Review new issue drawings and contract documents for change of conditions; quantify impact of changes and review with supervisor; distribute new issues to field. 13. Update schedule on a weekly basis and take measures to maintain target schedule. Inform management of potential changes that would affect the critical path of the schedule 14. Attend/conduct internal planning meetings. 15. Purchase and expedite delivery of materials; manage the material’s control operation. 16. Manage subcontractors on site and ensure site is in clean, safe and tidy condition all day 17. Strive to develop an optimum work environment for those directly supervised and the project as a whole. 18. Look for ways to improve project operations; and recommend, as appropriate, better methods, staffing and procedural changes. 19. Act as site supervisor / coordinator on multiple projects. 20. Train lower level site supervisors 21. In addition, perform any other job specific-duties as requested by the project manager Qualifications: 1. Relevant construction related post-secondary education or equivalent 2. Minimum 3-5 years site supervision experience in general construction (commercial preferred) 3. Excellent interpersonal / communication skills 4. Ability to conduct construction progress meetings 5. Computer proficiency with MS Office programs, AutoCAD and MS Project 6. Strong technical knowledge of the construction process and timelines 7. Must be able to read and interpret drawings and specifications 8. Working knowledge of building and construction components 9. Fluent in written and verbal communication in English (French / English preferred) 10. Highly organised and excellent time management skills 11. Outstanding multi-tasking abilities 12. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team 13. Ambitious and strong leadership skills required Requirements: 1. Must have own vehicle 2. Must be available to work flexible hours required to get the job done (eg.
