CAE - FEA Engineer

On behalf of our World Class Manufacturing client we are recruiting for a Intermediate FEA Engineer to join their CAE team.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• CAE Durability engineer will be responsible for performing structural analysis of engine systems / powertrain adaptation components.
• Utilize CAE techniques to assess durability, stiffness and strength of various components and systems.
• Document and report the analysis results and make design recommendations.
• The engineer will interact with the design and test engineers to proactively identify issues, develop solutions and meet program performance objectives and timings.

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

• Master’s degree or above in Mechanical Engineering
• 3+ years of CAE durability analysis experience in automotive industry
• Understanding of solid mechanics, durability/fatigue, vibration and dynamics
• Demonstrated experience and expertise using CAE software including ABAQUS, FEMFAT or nCode, ANSA, Hypermesh, Optistruct
• Good knowledge of computer simulation, numerical methods and FEA theory
• Strong verbal communication and presentation skills
• Ability to travel to the US to meetings with no travel restrictions once the borders open.
• Preferred Requirements:
• Strong experience in using Abaqus and fatigue software
• Strong analytical and technical background in quasi-static, non-linear analysis, durability/fatigue analysis, random vibration analysis
• Strong knowledge of structural dynamics
• Familiarity with Linux/UNIX
• Familiarity with optimization and DOE methods
• Good knowledge of automotive engine systems-ie: Fuel systems, cooling systems
• Good skills in programming with commercial software (e.g. Python script, Fortran, Visual Basic, C++, or Matlab Simulink)
• Excellent oral and written skills
• Excellent organizational, communication and teamwork skills
• Must be proficient in use of office software

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

• May be required to drive a company car.
• A valid driver’s license is required as well as a clean driving record.
• Will be required to travel domestically and internationally 20%.
