Overview / Responsibilities

Wood currently has an opportunity for a Buyer at our Mining and Minerals office in Saskatoon, reporting to the Senior Manager, Supply Chain,this role will have you working alongside other team members within the office and from various project sites.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and issue project specific procurement documents (i.e requests for quotations, proposals etc.) in line with project scope and schedule requirements
  • Negotiate payment milestones and General Terms and Conditions
  • Award purchase orders and subsequent change orders
  • Ensure awarded purchase orders are expedited and received as per project scope and schedule expectations
  • Maintain commercial control of the purchase orders until the goods are successfully delivered and all contractual responsibilities have been discharged
  • Maintain the project electronic database(s) such as Convero, Sharepoint (or other)
  • Liaison with client as required
  • Ensures all supply chain activities are carried out in accordance with the project execution plan/schedule and/or contracting strategy, within approved budgets and in line with project processes and procedures
  • Establish and maintain the project procurement status report (PSR) in line with project and schedule requirements

Skills / Qualifications

  • 5 -8 years related experience with preferred experience in an EPCM or industrial construction environment
  • Strong organization and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Excellent English language communication skills, written, oral and presentation
  • Positively maintain relationships with suppliers, clients, and other disciplines
  • Convero experience considered an asset
  • Authorization to lawfully work in Canada without sponsorship from Wood is required
