Role and Responsibilities

ARE YOU THE TYPE OF PERSON THAT HAS A PASSION FOR DELIVERING EXCELLENCE IN ACCOUNTS PAYABLE PROCESSING AND PROVIIDNG OUTSTANDING ACCOUNTS PAYABLE CUSTOMER SERVICE?

We are seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist who will be responsible for the efficient maintenance and processing of accounts payable transactions for our North American operations, including the accurate and timely processing of vendor invoices, maintaining accurate records while maintaining positive internal customer and vendor relationships.

We are looking to fill this position in one of the following locations, Boston, Massachusetts, Belfast, Maine or Bedford, Nova Scotia.

Reporting to the Assistant Controller, the Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for:

• Vendor Master Data maintenance
• Invoice Processing
• Employee expense claim processing
• Resolving purchase order discrepancies
• Preparation of EFT (Electronic Funds Transfer), ACH (Automatic Clearing House), wires and online bill payments
• Related general ledger reconciliation
• Assisting with other accounting duties as required

Required Skills and Experience

• 3 – 5 years accounts payable experience
• Working in a multi-company, multi-jurisdictional environment
• ERP experience, preferable Syspro
• Proficiency in United States Sales and Use Tax and Canadian VAT (Value Added Tax) and familiarity with international tax processing.
• Advanced computer skills including Word and Excel
• Experience with Avalara tax processing software is an asset
• Experience in a manufacturing environment is an asset
• Essential competencies include organizing and prioritizing, attention to detail and accuracy and problem analysis and problem-solving skill

Education

• Post-Secondary Accounting or Certificate/Diploma
