In the role of Water Business Group Leader (BGL), you will have the opportunity to grow a strong water business in the regional marketplace. As part of our world-class organization and in collaboration with our outstanding technical and business professionals you will help shape our future strategic and geographic development. This role will be based in our Richmond Hill, Ontario office and will require some business travel.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Build, recruit and lead the overall group and drive long-term growth
  • Oversee and implement processes within the business group including quality assurance, business required processes, and corporate requirements.
  • Manage staff members including development, morale, retention, and hiring.
  • Drive profitability for the group.
  • Participate in the annual strategic planning and budgeting process.
  • The Business Group Leader will also function as a senior project manager and technical advisor on projects in addition to management responsibilities. The BGL will take a leadership role in key pursuits, and serve as a client manager for key clients. As part of this role, the BGL is expected to:
  • Lead and coordinate services with other groups locally and nationally.
  • Work cooperatively with Business Group leadership and marketing professionals in local and national efforts.
  • Contribute to client management, marketing, planning, proposals and interviews.
  • Collaborate with Water Business Group Market Sector Directors
Required Qualifications
  • B.A.Sc. in Civil, Environmental or Related Engineering Discipline.
  • Registered P.Eng in Ontario
  • Active in area industry associations.
  • Twelve (12) plus years of project and program management related experience in the water market sector.
  • Candidate should have excellent marketing and business development skills in addition to contacts/relationships in the water industry.
  • Previous experience managing staff, clients, contracts and hiring staff for an engineering consulting firm is desired.
  • Strong teamwork, communications and leadership skills.
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must.
