Position Scope:Our client is experiencing high growth and is looking for a forward thinking, progressive and knowledgeable Warehouse Manager to share their ideas for, best practices and leading industry trends. This individual will be responsible for providing strategic direction for all warehousing activities associated with receiving, shipping, warehousing and inventory management working within approved budgets to achieve distribution objectives and meet customer requirements. The Warehouse Manager will set OGSM’s (objectives, goals, strategies, measures), plans for continuous improvement and creates new and innovative strategies necessary to consistently meet customer’s expectations while ensuring the highest standards for Safety & Quality are in place. This is a multi-site role, overseeing 2 facilities within close proximity of one another.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain receiving, warehousing and distribution operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational and personnel policies and procedures.
• Managing traffic flow of inventory within the warehouses.
• Manage the scheduling, inventory, distribution, warehouse functions, etc. for two facilities
• Meet regularly with staff to review, analyze, and develop actionable plans for productivity, inventory control, space management, logistics and shipping.
• Establish work practices/standards/instructions/metrics to improve overall performance, ensure inventory accuracy, streamline handling, maximize productivity, and promote efficient material flow and utilization.
• Implement new automation technology and supporting software.
• Supervise and lead warehouse staff (in 2 locations). The team (pick and pack team, forklift operators and general laborer’s) is anticipated to grow significantly over the next number of years. Responsible for recruitment, training, onboarding, etc.
• Work collaboration with other operations team member to support all aspects of the supply chain and logistics.
• Provide strategic and operational insight as it relates to logistics and distribution of products.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and clean warehouse at all times.
• Other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Knowledge:

• Ability to organize and manage people, processes, and systems.
• Strong problem solving and leadership skills.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize and delegate tasks.
• Ability to communicate effectively to employees, management, and other stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of warehousing, inventory, transportation, etc.
• Excellent oral and written skills.
• Proficient Window-based systems (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• The ability to motivate others, delegate work and explain ideas.
• Initiative and decisiveness.
• Problem-solving skills and an ability to work on a tactical and strategic level.

Education and Experience:

• 8+ years of experience in a warehouse/DC/3PL environment.
• 4+ years of management/supervisory experience.
• Experience in a high growth e-commerce business would be an asset.
• Experience implementing or utilizing a warehouse management system and warehouse automation is highly desired.
• Experience in implementing strategies for growth in a warehouse, including planning and actioning.
