Responsibilities

The Ward Clerk reports to the Nurse Manager and is responsible for all clerical duties assigned in the provision of efficient and effective patient care. Successful candidate may be temporarily reassigned to another department at the Roseway Hospital as needed.

Qualifications
  • Grade XII or equivalent
  • Successful completion of a recognized secretarial/office skills program
  • Successful completion of Medical Terminology Course
  • Expectation to obtain HASP (payroll) training, Meditech & Share training
  • Must have a high aptitude towards office organizational skills and the ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work in harmony as a member of the interprofessional team and the nursing program
  • Must be able to use initiative and work with minimal supervision
  • Data entry and word processing experience/training in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook required
  • Capable of maintaining regular attendance
  • Experience with community wide scheduling an asset for some units (i.e Oncology, Renal Dialysis)
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred.

Part-Time, Long Assignment (70% FTE); 49 hours biweekly

Salary Information

$20.09 - $21.91 hourly
