Responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain a strong multi-family real estate acquisitions and development pipeline.
  • Create and manage internal underwriting process to approve deals and keep executive team informed.
  • Put proper diligence process in place to allow for effective qualification and underwriting for multiple concurrent projects/opportunities.
  • Enhance team efficiency by encouraging communication between cross-functional team members.
  • Identify opportunities and oversee business growth strategy for undervalued properties in target cities and neighborhoods, with a current primary focus on multi-family real estate opportunities.
  • Continue to create and refine asset class acquisitions strategy to further grow the CLV Group portfolio.
  • Lead acquisitions team site selection process, tenant communication, due diligence process, and closing process.
  • Negotiate and structure real estate transactions that mitigate risk and create significant value for CLV Group.
  • Support relationship development with institutional investors, when necessary.
  • Research local markets and prepare detailed reports, making recommendations to company executives, build relationships with builders, developers, lenders, and brokers, and lead negotiations for loan and equity transactions.
  • Work closely with legal teams and finance teams while forming partnerships with relevant stakeholders to ensure that all contracts, lease agreements, and partnerships are sound and meet the company’s guidelines.

Duties:

  • Developing and executing an acquisitions strategy and business plan for acquisitions in line with company goals for growth.
  • Performing daily prospecting and lead generation.
  • Analyzing real estate by considering its current operational financial status, and physical condition, future opportunities, and highest and best use.
  • Preparing research reports on location by analyzing demographic, growth opportunities, city planning and regulations, rental data, sales data and any other relevant information.
  • Using CRM for tracking of prospecting communication, contacts, and deals in progress.
  • Developing the industry profile of CLV Group by attending professional development groups, apartment associations, and other networking opportunities

Qualifications:

  • 7-10 years’ acquisitions experience within large multi-family real estate.
  • University Degree in finance, designation is an asset (CPA, CFA, AACI).
  • Preferred past experience working in finance.
  • Experience in transaction, deal-to-deal closure, acquisitions, and financial analysis.
  • Experience with cross-functional and direct coordination of teams.
  • Through knowledge of preparing and understanding financial models.
  • Sound working knowledge of debt instruments
  • Team oriented - understands that best results occur via a total team approach.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ready to make a difference in a purpose driven company.
  • Strong knowledge of CRM tools and Microsoft Office
