Savanna Drilling Canada is searching for a VFD Specialized - Journey-level Electrician to join our team. As a Journey-level Electrician at Savanna, you will be responsible for the troubleshooting, repairs and maintenance of electrical and control systems for our drilling rigs. This Full-Time, Permanent Position is based out of our Leduc, AB office.

Core Responsibilities:

• Read and interpret electrical, mechanical, architectural drawings and electrical code specifications;
• Cut, thread, bend, assemble and install electrical conduit;
• Install, replace and maintain electrical distribution and control equipment;
• Troubleshoot, repair and maintain various VFD and PLC systems;
• Troubleshoot, repair and maintain Ross Hill and Woodward Generator controls;
• Troubleshooting and installing digital and analog instruments;
• Troubleshooting and testing motor encoders;
• Install and maintain fiber optic systems;
• Insulation testing of electrical motors;
• Consultation with rigs and their electrical concerns on a daily basis;
• Involvement with electrical upgrades and new rig construction.

Qualifications and Required Skills:

• Journeyperson certified in electrical or electronics;
• Must have minimum 2-4 years VFD related experience;
• Must have AC Drive and PLC knowledge or training;
• Generator controls knowledge will be considered an asset;
• Minimum 3-5 years related experience;
• Valid Driver’s License;
• Possess a valid Standard First Aid and H2S ticket;
• Experience in related Oilfield position will be considered an asset;
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
• Willingness to learn and develop;
• An aptitude for problem solving and planning;
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships
• High level of attention to detail
• Ability to work at heights
• Must be available for varying shifts and to travel to remote locations
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment under pressure
