South Riverdale Community Health Centre is a non-profit, multi-service organization that provides primary healthcare, social and community outreach services with an emphasis on health promotion and disease prevention primarily to people of East Toronto. The Transportation Facilitator is responsible for the overall coordination and administration of the Transportation Program, providing high-quality service.


This position is expected to work onsite.


Responsibilities:

  • Takes ride requests from service users, schedules rides using a computerized scheduling system and troubleshoots schedule as needed to ensure excellent service provision
  • Provides excellent customer service
  • Supports drivers in their work as necessary
  • Helps to identify transportation staff training needs
  • Proactively works to receive, document and address client concerns or complaints, with the support of manager
  • Actively monitors and evaluates ongoing services
  • Collects and reports on service statistics
  • Assists with transportation bills and payment
  • Ensures vehicle maintenance and renewal schedules are in place and adhered to
  • Monitors vehicle circle checks
  • In consultation with manager, works in liaison with Toronto Ride and other agency partners
  • Works collaboratively with organization program staff and volunteers
  • Contributes to the development of organizational standards, policies and procedures
  • Provides coverage for the Administration Office
  • Supports fundraising activities
  • Completes SRCHC mandatory training, or as deemed appropriate to better support the group
  • All other duties as required

Qualifications:

  • Minimum College diploma in Social Services or Human Services (i.e. SSW, Health Promotion)
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience working with seniors in a non-profit setting
  • Strong facilitation skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including excellent telephone skills
  • Superior interpersonal skills and excellent judgment
  • Ability to remain calm and pleasant with the public, staff and volunteers when under pressure
  • Flexible, adaptable to change
  • Proficiency in the use of computer technology and various software applications
  • Able to work independently as well as in a team setting
  • Able to work effectively in a multicultural environment
  • Knowledge of community-based resources
  • Minimum G class driver’s license
  • Police clearance documentation will be required for employment
  • Proof of triple COVID-19 vaccination status will be required for employment
