We are looking for individual with minimum of 1 year’s experience as Dispatch Assistant for full time and longer term.

AFTERNOON SHIFT

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

• Strong verbal and written English communication skills
• Proficient with the use of a computer, including but not limited to the use of Microsoft Office Software (Outlook, Excel, Word, Power Point)
• Strong understanding and experience of transportation industry
• Experience working with customers through various means of communication and ability to manage customer relations
• Ability to communicate effectively with others and work as a member of a team
• Proven problem solving and analytical skills; organizational planning and time management skills

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Confirm dispatch information sent to drivers
• Daily updating drivers’ group for specific messages
• Verify everyday if drivers are running on schedule
• Tracking truck and trailer location
• Update trailers google sheet for locations
• Providing updates to customers for location of load and update them in case of any delay
• Handling small safety repairs in afterhours time
• Dispatch local drivers for local pick up and delivery as well as schedule them for next day local work
• Ensuring truck departing on present day to be in yard only
• Make sure to get paperwork from drivers after picking up and delivery of the load
• Maintaining dispatch board
• Update dispatch boards about extra work done by highway drivers in particular pick up and delivery locations
• Making daily report for loads that are departing on present day.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $20.00-$22.00 per hour

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday
• Weekends as needed

• Mississauga, ON L4T 4E8: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
