Summary

The Telemedicine Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the delivery of high quality telemedicine services. The incumbent is expected to facilitate care and education via the Ontario Telemedicine Network to identified patients, staff and stakeholders of Grand River Hospital and ensure there is a safe environment for patients, staff and visitors. Develop a comprehensive program plan for telemedicine expansion and utilization to support our regional programs. This successful candidate will report to the Manager of the District Stroke Program and will be expected to provide leadership and support to staff and stakeholders, internally and at external tables to support a broader regional telemedicine strategy.

This role will also work closely with the Manager of the District Stroke Program to support the implementation of the district education work plan.

Qualifications
  • Nursing Baccalaureate Degree
  • Current Certificate of Competence from College of Nurses of Ontario and in good standing 5+ years in a RN role
  • Completion of RNAO eHealth Champion workshop an asset
  • Basic understanding of the field of telemedicine and the ability to see it as an enabler to health programs and systems
  • Telemedicine equipment familiarity is an asset
  • Proven ability to develop partnerships and function independently
  • Superior organization skills, project task management skills, problem solving skills and the ability to set and delegate priorities
  • Strong technical skills with an understanding of software application, a computerized environment, and an interest in using technology
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written
  • Demonstrated ability to interact positively with clinicians
  • Ability to work well within a team environment
  • Ability to work with and engage staff and stakeholders
  • Good attendance record
