Status: Regular/Full Time

Position Overview:

In this role you will support R&D Lab Operations and Semi Automated Lab (SAL) engineering experiments and builds.

Responsibilities:

The primary responsibility involves hands on work assembling cartridges and subcomponents, troubleshooting equipment issues and working with the technical team to improve processes and equipment.

Performs technical work with, or without established procedures.

Work requires judgment, initiative, creativity, and leadership in troubleshooting, suggesting alternatives and making recommendations.

Works with occasional supervision which may vary with the context/nature of the work. Latitude exists to select appropriate work methods without guidance from supervisor.

Plans and organizes work and initiates/maintains work schedule. Establishes priorities of work assignment input, as needed.

Solves a wide range of problems requiring some interpretation of defined procedures and practices. Selects methods and practices with guidance from supervisor to obtain robust, thorough and practical solutions.

Communicates ideas and suggestions for improving processes to leadership and actively participates in implementing timely solutions.

Understands and complies with Quality and EH&S policies, procedures and guidelines.

Safeguards the environment and facilitates a safe and healthy workplace culture.

Other miscellaneous duties as may be required

Required Education and Experience:
College Diploma (2 year program) or equivalent work experience

1-3 years hands on experience with assembly processes and manufacturing processes is also essential. Experience with automated equipment in a manufacturing environment is essential.

Experience building product to established procedures is essential.

Ability to interpret technical instructions for complex experiments is essential.

Some experience with programming languages and PLCs is an asset.
