WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

ACML is actively seeking a Technical Services Supervisor located in Toronto, ON whose main responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Provide support to all customers, as needed, through technical expertise and knowledge of equipment and systems;
  • Provides building automation technical solutions/diagnoses and repairs complex control system issues, requiring an extensive knowledge of electrical, digital controls systems and pneumatic control systems;
  • Provide technical leadership related to building automation management and troubleshooting.
  • Oversee unionized employees in both control room and technician roles.
  • Continually report suggestions on improvements of internal processes, routines, and tools through trend analysis via building automation system information or Iconics based information;
  • Works with drawings/sketches/manuals and provide suggestions for field changes to enhance system performance and minimize issues;
  • Establish client relationships to ascertain long-term operational needs/goals and to provide solutions to complex issues;
  • Assist client’s project team to develop project schedules including determining resources and executes according to plan for assigned projects;
  • Ensures that all work performed by the control room team is accurate and up to quality standards;
  • Ensures that contract obligations and any customer requirements are met, completely and accurately;
  • In collaboration with manager identify staff skill/competency gap(s) and facilitate development/implementation of staff training initiatives;
  • Assists with the coordination and monitoring of subcontractors, suppliers;
  • Meets regularly with customer to become familiar with operating problems. Keeps customer informed on the nature of service provided and recommendations on system enhancements, upgrades, and/or repairs;
  • Evaluates the project scope of work and the impact of client issued bulletins, field directive updates and/or scheduling changes;
  • Investigates service requests, claims, and emergency events as they relate to systems issues (local or systemic), providing recommendations regarding the causes and possible resolutions with the goal of continuous improvement;
  • Analyze alarm and override reports and ensure that findings are appropriately addressed. Analyze and make recommendations to optimize energy and operational usage with a goal of minimizing costs;
  • Works collaboratively with Manager/Supervisors in diagnosis and emergency rectification of issues while coordinating control room response/focus during significant events;
  • Provide strategic leadership to execute 5-Year-Roadmap vision objectives in conjunction with team.
  • Act as “our customer’s best service provider” at all times thereby ensuring ACML best-in-class customer service.
  • Mentor, coach and provide leadership to staff by developing and maintaining succession plans for all staff
  • Other duties as assigned.

WHAT WILL YOU BRING?

  • Degree or diploma in Mechanical; Electrical Engineering or equivalent;
  • 10+ years recent, related, progressive, troubleshooting supervisory/management in HVAC and or building controls
  • Familiarity with various Building Automation System software/hardware such as but not limited to: MetaSys, AutomatedLogic, EnteliWEB, Insight and Modern Niagara Building Controls
  • Previous supervisory experience in facilities maintenance and operations;
  • Proven knowledge of building systems and maintenance practices in a complex environment;
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of appropriate legislation, relevant laws and by-laws, and
  • provincial standards;
  • Possesses personal leadership attributes including; integrity, trustworthiness, results focused, high standards, commitment, ethical values and achievement oriented
  • Proven ability to foster, develop and maintain relationships with both internal and external contacts.
  • Excellent computer skills (i.e., Microsoft Office – Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to work under pressure of timelines with good time management and priority handling skills.
  • Ability to work weekends or on-call as required;
  • Must be legally eligible to work for any employer in Canada.
