Position:
Technical Operator, Broadcast Operations Centre

Location: Dome Productions – Toronto

Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience

Hours of Work: 40 hours per week. Weekdays, Evenings and/or Weekends as needed. Overtime as required


Overview:

Dome Productions is looking for individuals with strong interpersonal skills and who are technically minded to support the technical operation of facilities in our broadcast operations centre. In this role you will be working with a team that supports virtual ad replacement on live events.

Responsibilities:

  • Validate that all required resources are in place and operational as required (Daily fax check)
  • Work with the location event game camera operator to complete system calibration
  • Pre event confirmation that Playlists and Creative are prepared and ready for air
  • Coordinate activities with on-site personnel
  • Monitor system output to ensure the highest quality standards are being met
  • Alert the supervisor of any technical issues encountered
  • Initiate failover actions were required
  • Help troubleshoot any technical issues
  • Provide a report to the supervisor at the end of each event


Skills:

  • Basic understanding of operating systems and applications
  • Ability to work to deadlines and perform under pressure
  • Ability to troubleshoot hardware
  • Understanding of live sports and entertainment production process
  • Detailed-orientated, multi-tasking, self-directed with the ability to prioritize tasks and work well under pressure and deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills


Bilingualism is an asset (English and French); adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
