And here at the City of Medicine Hat, you’ll have a part in shaping how people perceive, experience, and enjoy the city - tomorrow and beyond.In this entry level role, reporting to the Senior Assessor, the Assessor I will be part of the team responsible for field inspections and valuation of all types of property. Working with the public and internal staff, having effective interpersonal and communication skills will enable the Assessor I to build effective working relationships. This role will use multiple computer programs to assist in sketching floor plan measurements, manual adjustments, recording detailed data, maintaining reports, preparing briefs and other documentation.Our ideal candidate

• You have the ability to make independent judgement to assess value and interact daily with the public and property owners.
• You possess the knowledge of assessment principles, current mass appraisal techniques and statistical analysis.
• You are able at field inspections and related assessments

Qualifications

• Completion of a two (2) year post-secondary diploma In property assessment or related field from a recognized post-secondary institution.
• Eligible for membership with the Alberta Assessor’s Association.
• Possess a valid Class 5 Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record.
• Management approved combination of education and experience may be considered.
