ESA is seeking a highly motivated, and experienced professional for the role of Talent Development Specialistwho is passionate about learning and development, and enhancing the organizational capabilities.

About the Role

The Specialist, Talent Development reporting to the Director, Talent Management will assist in designing and leading talent management practices that will accelerate ESA’s strategy. This position will lead learning and leadership programs (i.e. leadership academy for frontline supervisor/manager level), and practices, such as but not limited to leadership assessments (i.e. 360) that will accelerate ESA’s strategy.

This position will also ensure the enhancement, elevation and robustness of organizational capability and enhance employee/leader capability, including the enhancements of the annual talent review and succession planning and bringing it deeper and broader across ESA. Acting as a champion for a learning & leadership culture.

General Accountabilities:

· Champion a learning and leadership culture that builds the capability of the organization. Develop and implement practices and programs that have a meaningful impact on employees and contribute to business metrics. Including support of ESA’s leadership conference.

· Assist in development of talent programs to assess skill needs and gaps, build skills library and respond to development needs.

· Support discussions and leader development to ensure effective talent management across ESA; including planning for rotation assignments, cross-training.

· Support the design, development, implementation of employee and leadership development programs

· Assist in the identification of ESA’s learning and development needs and create entirely new initiatives or reform and improve existing programs.

· Facilitate learning and leadership programs, and/or assess and manage external training providers.

· Assist in identify and setting goals and desired outcomes, and establish assessment standards and benchmarks to evaluate the program’s success. Support leadership practices at ESA to ensure emerging new and seasoned people leaders are equipped for success.

· Assist with review and enhancement of competency model(s): benchmark external practices and gather internal input into the competency model(s) that will build the capability for ESA’s strategy. Develop the model(s), integrate into talent management practices, and monitor progress.

· Support the Director with the talent review process and leadership succession planning so that ESA has a robust talent pool for future business needs.

· Research and recommend frameworks, processes, and practices that enhance employee connection, commitment, and contribution to ESA. Examples include competencies, mentorship, and development planning.

· Support development of team effectiveness initiatives.

· Manage logistics associated with responsibilities including budget, vendor management, procurement processes program set up, and client communications.

· Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

· Education or equivalent work experience in Human Resources, Industrial/Organizational Development Psychology, Adult Learning, or Leadership and Learning or related field.

· Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in learning and/or organizational development roles.

· Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRL) designation is an asset.

· Knowledge, skill and experience in the following: Leadership Development, Group/Team effectiveness, Career/Development Planning, High Potential programs, and succession planning.

· Knowledge of psychometric assessment tools.

· Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills with the ability to explain, influence, listen, instruct, give clear feedback, and ask insightful questions.

· Very strong facilitation skills with a proven ability to bring a group to resolution, decision, or conclusion.

· Very strong learning background (especially adult learning theories and practices).

· Ability to assess business priorities and determine appropriate learning or organizational development intervention.

· Experience with the development of eLearning content and blending learning approaches.

· Highly organized and strong attention to detail.

· Commitment to the ongoing enhancement of skills and knowledge supported by a learning environment.

· Strong proven computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel at an advanced level.
