Title: Supply Chain Manager

Location: Windsor, Ontario, CA

Work Setting: On-Site

Our client is an established, electronics and lighting, design and manufacturing company. Their focus has historically been on quality-conscious and demanding automotive brands such as Audi, BMW, VW, Mercedes-Benz, Lamborghini, Rolls-Royce, Bentley, Ford, Jeep, and Cadillac; for whom they do both design work and production. Our primary product types are: (1) Electronic control units (ECUs) driving smart sensors, smart actors or human machine interfaces (HMI), and smart lighting for comfort and driver assistance functions; and (2) LED units for exterior and interior design and peripheral function lighting. Beyond automotive, they also have quality-conscious medical and industrial customers for whom they provide design, development, industrial engineering and electronic manufacturing services. They are dynamic and entrepreneurial but grounded in structured processes that ensures high quality.

About the Role:

As a Supply Chain Manager, you will be overseeing major sectors of my clients end-to-end Supply Chain areas including Procurement/Purchasing, Logistics, Operations, and more. You will be collaborating with various teams throughout the site’s location to ensure top quality workflow of responsibilities. You will be expected to be on-site five days a week at the Windsor location with minimal travel needed. Be prepared to join an up-and-coming organization within a start-up environment but has the resources and experience of an established organization!

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and implement the overall supply chain strategy
  • Collaborate with Sales, Operations, and Customer Service teams
  • Determine key supply chain KPIs
  • Suggest solutions for process improvements
  • Identify process bottleneck and implement solutions in a timely manner
  • Train and mentor SCM employees
  • Work with finance, sales, and manufacturing teams to determine most appropriate vendors and distributors
  • Build and maintain good relationships with vendors
  • Select transportation routes to maximize economy by combining shipments or consolidating warehousing and distribution.
  • Develop material costs forecasts or standard cost lists
  • Negotiate prices and terms with suppliers, vendors, or freight forwarders
  • Participate in the coordination of engineering changes, product line extensions, or new product launches to ensure orderly and timely transitions in material or production flow.
  • Review or update supply chain practices in accordance with new or changing environmental policies, standards, regulations, or laws
  • Assess appropriate material handling equipment needs and staffing levels to load, unload, move, or store materials
  • Document physical supply chain processes, such as workflows, cycle times, position responsibilities, or system flows.
  • Performing tasks required by the integrated quality and environmental management systems; cooperating to protect the environment (e.g., sorting and recycling waste); reporting environmental accidents immediately

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree or similar in related field
  • 5-7 years experience in Supply Chain
  • Management experience preferred
  • Experience with ISF preferred
  • Automotive Electronics or Electronics experience
