MSDC aims to support the Métis Settlements in Alberta by building strong mutually beneficial economic relationships, creating more opportunities for the settlements across the province. MSDC is focused on economic reconciliation and equity for the Métis people of Alberta who reside on Métis settlements. Covering 1.25M acres of land in northern Alberta, across eight settlements, with a total population of approximately 5,000 people, the Métis settlements are the only land-based Métis settlements in Canada. MSDC is an impact investment management firm that will make strategic investments to build long term financial benefit for the Métis settlements as members of the Metis Settlements Limited Partnership using the principles outlined in our strategic plan. We focus on building an investment portfolio that is diverse and builds on key principles for generational economic prosperity, social good and environmental stewardship. MSDC is focused on three pillars of investment – business and real estate acquisition and equity participation, major project participation and investment fund creation. The Role

This position will support MSDC in developing its ESGI (environment, social, governance and indigenous) Program. Tasks will include working with the CEO, CFO, and CIO to develop and implement an ESGI strategy, program, metrics and messaging milestones and online reporting solution. MSDC’s ESGI program will consist of environmental, social and governance metrics as well as developing a framework for indigenous reconciliation metrics.

Principal Accountabilities

1. Review ESG programs, such as the UN Sustainable Development Goals, GIIN, GRI and BCorp to provide recommendations for MSDCs ESGI program, including any indigenous inclusion and reconciliation metrics.

2. Develop a reporting matrix for the ESGI program, that highlights key environmental, social, governance and indigenous metrics that are relevant to MSDC’s impact fund and portfolio companies.

3. Research, assess and recommend a technology solution for ESG reporting for MSDC and its portfolio companies.

Qualifications

· Working on degree in business, finance, sustainability, or other related discipline from a Canadian post-secondary institution.

· A keen interest in ESG reporting, sustainability, and indigenous reconciliation.

· Ability to communicate effectively and in a professional manner.
