Position: Reservation Agent

Employment: Full Time Seasonal

Start Date: March 21, 2022

Job Description: Be a part of our dynamic in-bound call centre team starting this spring in our Kelowna office and assist new and existing Big White customers in having the ultimate experience in organizing a fantastic summer bike and hike or winter ski holiday. You will describe our accommodation options, compare specials, provide airfare options, sell lift passes, and give our guests the tools to make the most of their Big White Ski Holiday. This position has the opportunity to develop into year round, permanent employment and offers a 4 day work week from Mid April to October.

Position Requirements/Skills:
Ÿ Excellent customer service
Ÿ Attention to detail
Ÿ Clear & polite telephone manner
Ÿ Good verbal & written communication skills
Ÿ Microsoft word & excel knowledge
Ÿ Ability & willingness to learn new systems and promotions
Ÿ Travel Agent or Call Centre experience is an asset
Ÿ Time management skills are an asset
Ÿ Knowledge of second language is an asset but not required
Ÿ Team player

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Answer and assist all incoming telephone callers to 1-800 and direct Central Reservations line
  • Provide travel information, itinerary and pricing for Big White vacations and trips
  • Use selling techniques to promote packages, trip insurance etc.
  • Telephone and email reservations including accommodation, lift, shuttle, WestJet, Air Canada & other airline flights and any other requested activities or services
  • Reservation amendments, additions and cancellations
  • Check and answer cenres@bigwhite.com emails
  • Transfer all group or unit owner calls to correct department
  • Ensure accurate information is provided to all clients with respect to all Big White and Central Reservations products and promotions
  • Ensure all bookings made adhere to Big White Central Reservations payment and cancellation policies
  • Send confirmations, take final payments & run and administer various reports
  • Continual learning of new specials, new policies and resort events
  • General office duties
  • Maintain clean and tidy work area
  • Assist Reservations Supervisor with any reasonable requests or tasks
  • Any other reasonable requests as made by a Central Reservations Manager
