The primary function of the Region is to ensure the safe and efficient movement of goods, services and people in a given geographical area. The Region Operations team administers the Electrical Services Maintenance Contract, the Pavement Marking Contract and other Operational Contracts including but not limited to the Rumble Strip Program, the Inlaid Pavement Marking Program and Transverse Marking Program as part of the Ministry’s (asset) Preservation program. Regional Operations are a direct link between the Ministry and the public/ stakeholders providing a key transportation link in a multi-model environment.
The Manager, Regional Operations administers all aspects of the Electrical Maintenance Contract, the Pavement Marking Contract as well as other operational contracts as and when required.
Job Requirements:
- University or college degree in a related field of study and one (1) year of related experience (such as managing contracts, inspection and testing procedures for electrical installations and/or pavement markings, and project management or other related activities) OR
- Diploma from a recognized Institute of Technology (e.g. Applied Science Technologist and Technicians of BC) in a related field of study and a minimum of 3 years related experience (such as managing contracts, inspection and testing procedures for electrical installations and/or pavement markings, and project management or other related activities) OR
- Grade 12 or GED and a minimum of 5 years related experience (such as managing contracts, inspection and testing procedures for electrical installations and/or pavement markings, and project management or other related activities).
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Preference may be given to applicants with the following:
- Current, valid registration as a Professional Engineer with Engineers and Geoscientists British Columbia (EGBC)
- Experience in Contract management and implementation of Quality Management Systems.
- Experience with inspection and testing procedures for electrical installations and/or pavement markings.

This position can be based out of any of the location(s) listed above.
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 2 days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
