As a Staff Accountant, you will prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. During the monthly close, you’ll have responsibility over many aspects of internal reporting. In addition, you will look over schedules for the reporting processes, participate in compliance, and keep in touch with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits. A good deal of time in this position will be spent on producing Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. This Richmond, British Columbia based firm has a long-term contract / temporary position available, and offers an innovative work environment where effort is rewarded.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain monthly payment schedules
• Assist in monthly financial close workbook preparation, including annual closing process
• Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as requested
• Offer succinct analysis on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a clear and concise manner
• Aid in implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
• Keep up fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
• Produce complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll
• Oversee the creation of monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for reporting to management
• Perform month end close, journal entries with minimum supervision
  

Requirements

• Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases
• Knowledge of Credit Card Reconciliation
• Sage 50 experience
• Monthly Account Reconciliation experience
• Vow to meet business deadlines
• Seizes opportunities to produce results without direct supervision
• Exemplary analytical, quantitative and social skills
• Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases
• Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and constantly changing company environment
• Observant, accurate and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
• BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
• Outstanding organizational, written and verbal communication skills required
• Knowledgeable of ERP systems
• 2+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience
