  • Provide 2nd level 7/24 on-call/hybrid work support for all GCC System Z mainframe environments.
  • Ensure that processes are established to provide maximum availability to all clients.
  • Contribute to the ongoing process of DRP of all System Z environments.
  • Participate in the implementation and roll out of new hardware/software.
Technical:
  • Maintain a very good working knowledge of the tools required to execute all defined responsibilities, which involve both the hardware and software platforms.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work with Service Providers, clients, and support staff effectively at a technical level.
  • Develop & maintain the skills to adapt and adjust to the many changes in technology as they are related to System Z platform.
Environment:
  • Provide support and analysis to ensure that services are restored promptly during problem situations.
  • Review all changes prior to implementation to ensure little or no disruption to the processing environments.
Project Management:
  • Ability to handle all aspects of first level review/implementation/support.
  • Plan and co-ordinate the roll out of major releases on the many images including software and hardware.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Addressing items documented in the daily shift report.
  • Improve reporting, tracking and escalation of high-severity problems especially those that have a high probability of affecting production availability.
  • Provides direction, expertise, feedback, coaching and development to build the capability of more junior staff.
  • Continually enhances skills and builds knowledge in all aspects of the organization, the business and information systems.
  • Create the appropriate Problem Resolution Procedures.
  • May require overtime on weekends (with overtime pay or time off in lieu).
What do you need to succeed?

Must Have:
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in a related discipline
  • Required and suggested experience in the following: IBM zSeries hardware IBM z/OS operating system IMS, DB2, CICS, MQseries, TSO, ISPF, WebSphere, SA390, ServiceNow, Change Management, Incident Management, GDPS, DFSMS. Mainframe infrastructure hardware and software products
