How your role will add to the story :

We’re looking for a Sr. IT Infrastructure Specialist. Under the leadership of Mgr. Digital Foundation, this role will be responsible to ensure the Daimler standards for Servers, Printers and software are adhered too, provide Infrastructure architect solutions. Also the role will manage and guide infrastructure support vendors to support and maintain the Virtualized and non-virtualized server environment in all server rooms; to handle any new technical issues presented to the Infrastructure area, such as backups, server incident, this role will managing vendor performance and provide guidance and necessary trainings to support vendors. The role also responsible to provide guidance to vendor to support for non-complex miscellaneous tasks that may come up in the Infrastructure team. Also, this role is the product owner of business digital automation solutions which requires the strive for and be enthusiastic to all innovation ideas and implementation that lead to a high business performance.


A day in the life of:

  • Being the product owner of digital technical solutions. Lead frontier technical innovations for business process such as RPA
  • Instruct infrastructure support vendor to manage VMware vSphere High Availability, VMware vSphere Fault Tolerance, and VMware vSphere Data Protection using vCenter Server. Instruct infrastructure support vendor to manage VMware to setup, manage and administer Storage; Backup and DR for MB-Canada. Make sure that the provisioning is done correctly. Capacity management, RAID configuration and patching of NetApp filers, managing snapmirror and snapvault. Veeam backup and recovery management. Troubleshoot failed backups and restore jobs. DR management using snapmirror and Veeam.
  • Manage infrastructure vendors such as regular performance review, meet ICS requirements, and provide trainings and guidance.
  • Instruct infrastructure support vendor to schedule distribution of software packages to target servers through MS Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) required duration and time frame. Validate target lists or run queries to determine available target devices before scheduling the software distribution. Ensure that the Daimler approved software and OS are up to date on Windows servers.
  • Provide infrastructure architect solution to MB Canada projects and delivery solutions to project team
  • Responsible for the management of all Networking in the infrastructure. Point of contact for firewall and network related topics. Manage Wireless controller for WLAN management and Checkpoint for firewall management. DNS management using QIP and external tools.

Qualifications


Mercedes-Benz Fan skills, requirements & traits:

  • University Degree along with strong background in information technology with a clear understanding of software and patch distribution in a large scale business.
  • Virtualization experience (Hyper-V, VMWare or other hypervisors)
  • At least 5 years working knowledge of storage, backup and DR technologies.
  • At least 5 years knowledge of Windows / Linux server operating systems, components and configuration
  • Experience of Power Automate is plus
  • Professional Certification:MCSA, VMware, CompTIA A+, ITIL v3, CCNA
  • Specialized Knowledge: Microsoft SCCM, Configuration Manager, NetApp, Red Hat Linux
  • Ability to collaborate with resources across multiple disciplines
  • Ability to design and document complex workflows
  • Strong proficiency in VMware VSphere and cloud management technologies
  • Well-rounded knowledge of networking (LAN, WAN, VMPLS, VLAN, Routing, Firewalls, etc.)
