Your Opportunity:

This temporary Social Worker II will work with the Assertive Outreach Community team. This team provides community based services to persons with a chronic and/or severe and persistent mental health illness. In addition to a competitive rate of pay, AHS currently has a Fort McMurray Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $12,480. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay.

Description:

As a Social Worker II, you will be a member of an inter-disciplinary team and provides a range of social work services to patients and their families. Your services may include: psychosocial assessment, resource-based interventions, individual, group and family treatment, risk screening, counselling, case management and coordination, transition or discharge planning, and prevention, promotion and public awareness activities.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of bachelor’s degree in Social Work. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Minimum 2 year experience working in a Community Addictions and Mental Health setting.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working with an Assertive outreach team preferred. Demonstrated effective communication skills. Nonviolent crisis intervention training. Ability to foster partnerships, establish and maintain strong working relationships with public agencies and government.
