Social Researcher

(Full-time Contract from May 22, 2023 to June 14, 2023)


Please Note: CCS has submitted a funding proposal for summer student hiring. We are currently recruiting to build our applicant pool for positions we intend to hire.
Our ability to hire for this position is conditional upon our securing approval for the funding. Shortlisted candidates with be contacted in April/May for interviews.

We are currently accepting applications for summer students interested in working as a Social Researcher.


What you’ll get to do:


  • Collecting data on newcomer integration and needs analysis in relation to settlement services
  • Interpreting settlement data, analyzing results using statistical techniques
  • Developing and implementing data analyses, data collection systems and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality
  • Acquiring data from primary or secondary data sources and maintaining databases
  • Promptly reporting, presenting relevant internal and external stakeholders


What you need to know/have:


  • Post-secondary education preferred; preference is given to candidates in the following fields: Community and Social Services, Social Work, Computer Science or similar
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Adept at queries, report writing and presenting findings
  • Experience with various data management systems
  • Strong computer skills in MS Office including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Hours: 35 per week

Compensation: $15.50 per hour
