Job Summary:

You are a skilled Carpenter with experience to support us on industrial oil & gas projects. You will be an integral part of the Ledcor team working on the CBR Cogen project. This is a three year project that includes replacement of three coke fired boilers with two 400 MegaWatt cogen units. The project is conveniently located right outside of Fort McMurray at Suncor Baseplant.

  • Essential Responsibilities:
  • Comprehend drawings to prepare layouts including selecting materials, planning sequences and methods of work, and measuring and marking materials to avoid costly mistakes or omissions
  • Understand industrial concrete forming and engineered forming systems to accurately build concrete forms
  • Check completed units to be sure they are level, square, plumb, and the right size, shape, and location
Qualifications
  • Have a Journeyperson Carpenter Ticket from a recognized provincial training authority
  • Non-ticketed carpenters must provide proof of hours relevant to the industrial carpentry trade.
  • Must successfully complete pre-access drug and alcohol testing
  • Successful candidates will require CSTS 2020, CSO or BSO
Work Conditions
  • Project is located in the Fort McMurray AB.
  • Project commenced in July 2021; this is a role with long term potential
  • 10/4 schedule working 10 hours per day + additional banked time to allow leaving early on last day of work
  • Site based camp provided
  • Charter Flights from either Edmonton or Calgary, and travel allowance for out-of-province candidates who qualify
  • Driving to Fort McMurray is an option as there is camp parking available
