Job Description
  • Participate with the project manager in preparing a schedule of construction activities and their sequence, organization structure, staff selection, manpower and construction equipment requirements of the project.
  • Direct and control the total construction project to meet specifications and within the allotted time schedule in an efficient manner to produce the expected profit.
  • Review and approve all requisitions, field purchase orders, invoices, and other significant reports and documents.
  • Negotiate all trade and vendor pricing per project to reach profitable agreements.
  • Determine needed site resources (manpower, equipment and materials) from start to finish with attention to the project budget.
  • Plan all construction operations and schedule all work on-site to ensure deadlines will be met.
  • Report regularly to the project manager to keep them constantly informed on job progress, plans, and problems that could significantly affect costs or schedules.
  • Track progress against project schedule, anticipate delays, make adjustments as needed to meet expectation

The Successful Applicant

  • Residential builds experience is a must
  • 7-10 years of experience as a Site Superintendent
  • Tenure with reputable companies is an asset
  • Work experience within the GTA is preferred
  • Experience with full life cycle high volume low-rise projects such as subdivisions and town-homes
  • Must have capability to read and interpret construction drawings, plans, layouts, details, and specifications, and trouble shooting details, and clarifying details with workers and trades
  • Ability to communicate with and understand the needs of all project stake holders, including clients, architects and end users;
  • Experience managing the day-to-day activities of complex institutional projects
  • Must have experience coordinating and schedule construction workers and trades
