We are looking for an experienced Shop Coordinator to join our high performing service team in Steinbach. In this role you will be assisting in the efficient daily operation of the Service Department by assigning work, evenly loading the service shop and assisting with problem-solving as needed, shop tool requirements, facility maintenance and customer requirements.

What you will be doing:

  • Direct daily shop functions to maximize throughput while emphasizing work quality and employee safety
  • Assign work to match technician capability with complexity of the work order
  • Understand all Service Department policies and procedures for proper and consistent Dealership operations
  • Actively support health and safety regulations and internal company safety policies
  • Practice preventive maintenance on all Service department tools, equipment, trucks and facility
  • Mentor new technicians and assist in their development
  • Provide technical expertise to service writers to support quotes and customer enquiries
  • Assist Service Manager with the employee review and development process
  • Work pro-actively with Parts and Sales departments


Required Skills
  • Familiar with technical manuals and research
  • Well-developed problem solving, analysis and option generating skills
  • Process management skills
  • Highly organized, excellent time management and follow up
  • Coaching, mentoring skills
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office
  • Excellent customer service skills


Required Experience
  • High school completion or GED equivalent
  • Minimum 2-5 years in a busy Service Department
  • 2 years supervisory experience
  • Ag background
  • Journeyman technician certification, John Deere Certification is an asset
  • Driver’s license and clear abstract
