General Purpose:

Responsible for the effective and efficient milling of raw material, as set out by the production schedule, with good results in quality and yield, and co-ordinating with Quality Assurance Technicians.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Understands all aspects of production.
  • Understands production schedule, for Milling.
  • Maintains product quality as per product specification sheets.
  • Maintains maximum extraction and load on all flour runs.
  • Ensures that production records are filled out and current.
  • Ensures that the all daily flour production records and related communication is checked, corrected and accurately filed and circulated.
  • Implement sanitation based on Master Sanitation Schedule.
  • Reports sanitation issues to Operations Manager.
  • Reports any maintenance issues to Maintenance Department and/ or Operations Manager.
  • Maintains all production machinery in good operating condition, in co-operation with Maintenance Department. Advises Operations Manager of problems.
  • Develops procedures to improve production and quality.
  • Supervises and trains production personnel in all aspects of their jobs.
  • Holds responsibility for the overall appearance and cleanliness of the Facility.
  • Contributes to solving equipment, product and production problems.
  • Assists in developing procedures and methods for running new products.
  • Conducts all sampling and other Quality Assurance procedures.
  • Is aware of critical control points as they relate to product liability.
  • Follows Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) while performing job duties and tasks
  • Performs all other related duties, including training, as required.

Qualifications:

· Grade 12 or equivalent.

· Level 1 First Aid.

· Mill experience, including a working knowledge of mill and packing equipment.

· Completion, or working towards, IAOM Correspondence Course.

· Demonstrated Computer Skills.

· Self-motivated team player with a strong work ethic.

· Above average interpersonal and communication skills with supervisory capabilities.

· Available for shift work as well as work on weekends, holidays and call outs as required.

  • 12 hour shift

  • Chilliwack, BC: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
