Mission
In order to deliver diversified building projects, the structural team is looking for a senior technician with good analytical skills and facility using REVIT software. The structural technician’s responsibilities will primarily consist of participating in the design of structural projects and issuing drawings compliant with CIMA+’s high-quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Actively participate in the design and preparation of drawings and specifications
  • Prepare structural building drawings
  • Ensure compliance with the provisions of the quality assurance system
  • Solve technical problems requiring research and in-depth analysis
  • Develop and prepare structural models and drawings using REVIT and AutoCAD software (wood, steel, and reinforced concrete frameworks)
  • Ensure coordination with other disciplines (architecture, electromechanical and civil engineering)
  • Carry out field surveys (occasionally)
  • Provide technical assistance to site supervisors
  • Help in the verification of workshop drawings
  • May participate in site supervision, based on personal interests and skills

Profile

  • Technical training in civil engineering, architecture, or an equivalent
  • More than 10 years of relevant experience in the area of commercial/institutional/ residential/industrial structures
  • Excellent practical knowledge of REVIT and AutoCAD software
  • Experience in building structural drawing
  • Knowledge of structural design standards
  • Knowledge of and interest for Building Information Modelling (BIM) - an asset
  • Bilingualism (spoken and written French and English) - an asset

In the building sector, we are carrying out major projects, such as the construction of the new CHSLD des Chauffailles (residential and long-term care centre CHSLD), reconstruction of the Sports Centre at the CEGEP de Rivière-du-Loup, construction of the new Rimouski courthouse, and infrastructure redevelopment at the Université du Québec in Rimouski.
