POSITION DESCRIPTION

As a result of recent growth, Westerkirk Capital Inc. (the ‘Company’) is seeking a Systems Administrator to develop and support cloud and server infrastructure. The Systems Administrator will also provide end user support for the corporate office as well as a group of subsidiary companies. This role requires an organized, solution-oriented professional that enjoys working in a fast-paced environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

  • Provides impeccable, pro-active customer service to end users at all levels of the organization, including supporting the Company’s key executive and Shareholders in corporate and personal property environments.
  • Work with fellow IT department team members to support and maintain on-premise and cloud based systems and networks.
  • Completes hardware and software requests using the Company’s ticket system, from diagnosing issues and troubleshooting, through to delivering end user focused solutions.
  • Maintains the technical assets at offices and including printers, telephones, video conferencing systems, and shared display screens.
  • Assists in the evaluation of vendor patches, releases and new products.
  • Maintains and updates IT related policies and procedures and distributes to end users, as required.
  • Ensures system hardware, software, and related procedures adhere to organizational standards.
  • Oversees stock/inventory levels and manages deployment and end-user support for laptops, desktops and/or mobile devices, as well as line of business applications and software.
  • Participates in cloud and on-premise server and network monitoring/maintenance as required.
  • Manages the escalation of IT issues in a timely end user focused manner to the appropriate teams.
  • Provides leadership, coaching and on-site supervision to the IT team to drive continuous pro-active service to end users.
  • Assists/supports specific project teams with implementation, training, documentation and other project related tasks, as required.
  • Participates in our 24/7/365 on-call support rotation.

REQUIRED SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

  • Post-Secondary Degree in an IT related field as well as relevant certifications.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of Information Technology experience, preferably in a family office environment.
  • Exceptional customer service skills with a desire to provide pro-active end user focused support.
  • Strong experience deploying and troubleshooting a variety of end user devices including windows, mac and iOS.
  • Experience configuring, monitoring and supporting Azure and Microsoft 365 administration.
  • Supporting a corporation with at least 30 servers and 300 endpoints in a multi-site environment.
  • Ability to manage and maintain private and confidential information with a high degree of professionalism.
  • Proven ability to drive behavior & cultural change across the teams.
  • Strong customer facing skills and the ability to negotiate conflicting priorities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong troubleshooting and multi-tasking skills.
