We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Designer to join our Automation and Assembly group, focused on providing world-class technology solutions to our customers, such as battery tray assembly systems, battery assembly and test, leak test equipment, industrial parts washers, and material handling automation.

What you’ll get to do
Develop creative and innovative engineered solutions that meet or exceed customer requirements
Review and study customer specifications, engineering schematics, and other data to ensure released designs meet engineering and manufacturing requirements
Perform engineering calculations and material selection to meet safety standards and design functionality requirements
Estimate design hours for tool concepts, design and release of original content, and changes
Construct and modify CAD models per customer CAD standards
Prepare layout and detail drawings to project timelines
Manage structural and/or finite element analysis to validate design functionality
Coordinate model and drawing development, managing teams of internal and external designers, and comprehensively manage the complete design of tools assigned
What you bring
Proven ability to work well within a team-based environment, prioritizing plans of action to accomplish objectives in a high pressure environment
A university degree or college diploma in mechanical engineering or technology
Experience with CAD systems and software, such Inventor, AutoCAD, Catia, NX, FiDES, or Solidworks
8 years of direct experience designing automation systems and related tooling
Ability and willingness to travel to company and customer facilities globally
Nice to have
General awareness of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) concepts and its application in manufacturing and assembly
