Senior Grocery Clerk (Delivery Driver)

Reporting to the Grocery Manager, the Senior Grocery Clerk is responsible for the delivery of food, pharmacy, and liquor divisions products to various customers’ homes and business individual addresses within Medicine Hat. This position is responsible for loading orders into an assigned company vehicle and following a scheduled route to ensure all deliveries are made in a safe and timely manner as scheduled. This position works closely with Grocery Clerks and the Grocery Manager to ensure successful and on time delivery of customer orders.

This position will also be responsible for collecting Click and Collect orders, delivering and stocking customers’ orders when not delivering to customers homes and businesses. During slow periods, the Senior Grocery Clerk will also be responsible for ordering and stocking grocery merchandise, merchandising and displaying packaged products, receiving, and unloading the truck, and maintaining department cleanliness and housekeeping standards within the grocery store.

Qualifications: Candidates must possess a valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driving record. Minimum of 1-2 years of previous experience in a retail environment; with previous Grocery Department experience an asset. Applicants must have a High School diploma or equivalent, or an acceptable combination of education and experience.

• Must be at least 18 years of age to work in a liquor environment and must have Pro-Serve or be able to obtain within 30 days
• Ability to complete and successfully pass a pre-employment alcohol and substance test
• Clean criminal record
• Clean drivers abstract, Class 5
• Ability to frequently lift and move over 50lbs
• Excellent internal and external customer service skills
• Ability to use and adapt to new technology, along with proficient with windows applications
• High flexibility with strong interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse environment
• Manual dexterity required to use POS machine and peripherals for the collection and processing of payments in various forms utilising POS machine and cash.

Availability: Available to work Monday to Friday between 10am to 7pm
