As a Senior Geospatial Analyst, you will develop and provide geospatial services and products to multiple clients. Primary duties include:

  • Provide geospatial consulting, analysis and advice through understanding business needs and processes.
  • Use geospatial technology and best practices to provide effective and efficient client solutions.
  • Develop data management processes, create data models to house the information, perform data translation and transformation, and apply quality control measures on geospatial data.
  • Produce a variety of customized geographic information system (GIS) mapping products and tools, map services, geoprocessing services and models using a diverse assortment of business data sources.
  • Research and adopt geospatial technologies to develop location-driven routing solutions.
  • Provide variety of desktop and web based mobile platform solutions.
  • Offer support and training to staff and clients using geospatial technologies, geographic information science and data management practices.
  • Provide support for, and be called upon at all Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) exercises and emergency events.
Qualifications
  • A completed 2 year diploma in Architectural Technology, Civil Engineering Technology, Engineering Design and Drafting Technology, Geomatics Engineering Technology, Applied GIS, Geography, or a related field plus at least 8 years related experience; OR
  • A degree in GIS, Geography, Planning, or a related field plus at least 5 years related experience.
  • An advanced level of proficiency with ArcGIS is required.
  • Advanced proficiency with SQL, Python, Java and/or other programming languages is required.
  • An understanding of LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) data and advanced skills in Feature Manipulation Engine (FME) is required.
  • Experience with ArcGIS Online, building ArcGIS Online solutions, advanced imagery processing and building multimodal networks are definite assets.
  • Strong communication, customer service, and relationship building skills.
