AMANST Inc. is looking for Senior DevOPS/Cloud Engineer for a contract opportunity with Ontario Government.

Estimated Business Days: 175 days

Must Haves

Responsibilities:

• Design, build and operationalize a cloud provider hosted data hub compliant with published GO-ITS standards.
• Specify, implement, and test APIs that successfully integrate the data hub components with BI/BA solutions in use by business users.
• Monitor and assess the performance of applications in the cloud environment data hub to ensure the data hub and business BI/BA solution outputs meet performance indicators.

General Skills:

• Recent experience (last 18-24 months) with provisioning, configuring and supporting PaaS instances on one of the leading cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
• Recent experience (last 18-24 months) in maintaining complex Linux cloud environments in Red Hat CoreOS to support modern web technologies such as LAMP, MEAN, Cloud Pak for Data, etc.
• Experience provisioning and configuring container-based virtualization technologies such as Kubernetes, Docker, OpenShift, etc.
• Recent experience (last 18-24 months) provisioning AWS environments with Redshift, Redshift Spectrum, and supporting tools like Lambda, Glue, Athena, EMR, and AppFlows.
• Experience using tools such as JIRA, Confluence and Maven or similar tools.
• Experience using monitoring tools such as CloudWatch logs, CloudTrail, Elasticsearch and Splunk.
• Experience in scripting languages like Python, PHP, Java, JavaScript, Node, etc.
• Experience in VPC networking, firewall and Fortinet in AWS Cloud.
• Experience in configuring APIs to support integrations between business solutions and data hub components as well as between data hub components.
• Experience applying Cloud Service Provider architectural, infrastructure (compute, network) and security standards and best practices to PaaS instances.
• Experience migrating on-prem instances of applications to cloud PaaS environments.

Expertise [35%]

• Design, implement, and operationalize a highly available PaaS infrastructure on cloud provider instances utilizing various products (e.g., AWS Glue and AWS Athena, AWS Redshift Spectrum , AWS Redshift, IBM OpenShift Container Platform, Kubernetes, ROSA, AWS Cloud Formation and AWS CodeCommit) as applicable.
• Migration of a high availability, high performance, on-prem database appliance to a cloud /hybrid cloud environment (e.g., on-prem Oracle Exadata to AWS database candidate).
• Python Scripting languages (Spark, Lambda, boto3), PHP, Java, JavaScript, Node, etc.

?Core Skills and Experience [25%]

• Analysis skills for assessment of existing technology solutions, stakeholder analysis etc., at a technical lead level (10+ years).
• Experience using monitoring tools such as CloudWatch logs and CloudTrail, experience in VPC networking, firewall and Fortinet in AWS Cloud (3+ years)
• Experience in setting Advanced Audit systems (Splunk and Elasticsearch) integration for Application Audit Events.
• Knowledge of Data Governance and Data Quality patterns, best practices, and processes (3+ years)
• Experience in developing Cloud architectural artefacts according to industry standards and methodologies, e.g., TOGAF, Zachman Framework, Rational (7+ years)
• Knowledge of container-based virtualization technology like Kubernetes, Docker, OpenShift Platform Services. (7+ years)
• Experience in managing successful transition of legacy BI platforms (such as Cognos) to BI platform on Cloud.
• Experience in the design and delivery of presentations and workshops to technical and business stakeholders. (10+ years)
• Experience in negotiation with external Vendors and Internal IT and Data providers. (10+ years)

• Strong interpersonal skills with ability to work with client stakeholders to understand, interpret business requirements and its technical implications.
• Demonstrated ability to present technical solutions to client stakeholders, technical staff and to senior management.
• Demonstrated technical leadership to lead and direct a technical team during implementation.
