Role Description

The Research Centre of Excellence (RCoE) is responsible for development and execution of brand and customer experience measurement programs as well as decision-support research spanning multiple lines of business within Canada Life. The insights generated from this team are used to guide strategic and tactical improvements to Lifeco products, processes, and customer service experiences. This role will support, and work in coordination with, the Manager, Data and Research Operations within the RCoE.

What You Will Do

  • Create and maintaining documentation of core Measurement & Research team processes
  • Contribute to the enhancement of team processes, where applicable
  • Assist with sourcing data, defining requirements, and facilitating data transfer and transformation for measurement and research projects requiring systems data
  • Facilitate or complete quality assurance and/or user acceptance testing on new system data extracts and data feeds
  • Monitor ongoing measurement programs, proactively identifying any errors/issues, and facilitating timely resolution
  • Complete ad-hoc data analysis requests to support team decision making regarding (e.g., data sources, and requirements)
  • Support the maintenance and enhancement of a research library, and intranet site for the RCoE

What You Will Bring

  • Post-secondary degree in business analysis, project management, or business operations management
  • Minimum 1-2 years experience in business process analysis and documentation
  • Minimum 1-2 years experience in technical requirements gathering and documentation working with internal or external customers
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., tables, pivot tables, formulas, conditional formatting, data cleaning & transformation); Working knowledge of Microsoft Visio
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Power Query and/or Power BI would be a strong asset
  • Strong oral and written communication skills; Strong process documentation skills (including precise formal writing)
  • Strong organizational (e.g. time and task management) skills; ability to multi-task
  • Basic knowledge of the Canadian insurance and investments industry (particularly business-sponsored plans)
  • Basic knowledge of corporate IT infrastructure; ability to work collaboratively with business and technical resources
  • A proactive, self-directed approach toward learning, critical thinking, and problem-solving
  • A business analyst mindset – typified by analytical thinking, problem solving, and the ability to break tasks or problems down into their component parts

The base salary for this position is between $54,300 - $90,400 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).
