Job DescriptionPosition SummaryBased out of the Electrical Division Edmonton (EDE) Acheson location, the Accounts Receivable Specialist will report to the Accounting Manager of the Accounting department. The Senior Accounts Payable and Receivable Specialist will be responsible for daily cash applications, generation of invoices and credit memos, and creation of accurate management reports.Essential Responsibilities
  • Process 2-way, 3-way, and manual coded invoices
  • Prepare weekly EFT payments, cheque runs and wire transfers
  • Reconcile vendor statements
  • Prepare journal entries for prepaid expenses, accruals, and other liability accounts
  • Perform monthly closing activities for AP function
  • Prepare AP Balance Sheet reconciliations and reporting packages
  • Audit and process employee expenses
  • Work with the Purchasing and other departments to resolve invoicing discrepancies
  • Daily cash application, generation of customer invoices and credit memos
  • Schedule and attend monthly AR collection meetings
  • Manage 3rd party billings (Ariba, OpenInvoice, Cortex)
  • Perform monthly closing activities for AR function
  • Prepare AR Balance Sheet reconciliations and reporting packages
  • Assist with month end procedures, GL reconciliations, and ad hoc accounting
  • Assist with internal and external audit requests
  • Other AP and AR duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • Post-secondary in in the areas of finance, business, or accounting considered an asset.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in Accounts Payables/Accounts Receivable.
  • Experience in Manufacturing, Construction, and/or Oil & Gas industries preferred.
  • Basic to Intermediate knowledge of spreadsheet applications.
  • Demonstrated proficiency using MS Office.
  • Basic knowledge of payables processes using an integrated ERP system, Oracle preferred.
Working Conditions
  • Temperature controlled working environment.
  • Job requires working in an office setting.
  • Working in front of a computer for the majority of the shift.
