Purpose

Contributes to the overall success of the Global Marketing department in Canada and Internationally by supporting financial and operations management activities related to HRMRE operating, program and event management marketing budgets, by ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.


Accountabilities

  • Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  • Contributes to the completion of financial operations and administrative activities related to HRMRE & other marketing budgets managed in Toronto, including: processing and tracking invoices, preparing accrual entries, preparing general journal entries, updating cost trackers, comparing actuals to forecast, preparing reconciliations, and identifying variances.
  • Supports the detailed accounting and administration work related to the Event recoveries process which includes invoice processing, accounting for credit card transactions, reviewing actual costs, updating master files, preparing journal entries, preparing reconciliations, and identifying and reviewing variances
  • Supports the maintenance of budget trackers, including, coding and posting invoice information into budget trackers; verifying that actual expense information in Smartstream and budget trackers are aligned and reconciled to Finance reports.
  • Supports other duties as needed, which may include accounting and administrative support for the complement administration system (CAS) reporting, business line cost allocation updates (GIST), and Technical services agreement reporting (TSA)
  • Manages the record keeping of expenses by saving the invoices electronically in the shared folder.
  • Provides operational support to Marketing’s senior management team including, but not limited to: operational risk and related risk management activities; Business Continuity Planning; Procurement; Audits; Enterprise Regulatory Compliance Management; Risk and Control Self-Assessment; NIRA; and Records and Information Management.
  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.

Education / Experience / Other Information

  • University degree with Major in Business, Accounting or Marketing an asset.
  • 1-3 years of experience in financial management and/or accounting operations and administration.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented worker who seeks perfection.
  • Excellent planning, organizational and co-ordination skills required to support multiple projects and complete deliverables on time.
  • Strong Excel skills.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders including departmental management.



Working Conditions
Work in a standard office-based environment; non-standard hours are a common occurrence. Limited domestic travel.
