The opportunity

Provides credit structuring, credit underwriting, risk management and client facing support for a portfolio of diversified clients with average loan volumes greater than $2MM, within a specified geographic market. This individual contributor role performs credit underwriting and monitoring and represents the day-to-day contact for clients, partnering with Managers Commercial or Senior Managers, Business Development. They would be responsible to analyze financial statements of loan prospects for use by relationship management team in making credit decisions. The credit analyzed is moderately complex and often involves re-analyzing financial statements of current customers to bring a credit file to current status.

What your day will look like

• Risk management:You will utilize your risk management skills to ensure appropriate measures are put into place and risk assessment protocols and structures are implemented, while balancing risk and reward in line with CWB’s risk appetite.
• Credit Underwriting:As an experienced credit underwriter, you will partner with Senior Commercial Relationship Managers to support the branch strategy and client experience through effective and timely credit underwriting for new and existing borrowing clients with average loan volumes greater than $2MM. You will manage risks and day-to-day client relationships for medium to large commercial clients.
• Creative problem solving:Acting as a go-to resource to provide solutions support for your colleagues’, and your own, portfolios.
• Learning:Although you’ve developed a strong commercial foundation, you are always identifying trends and growing your knowledge on your next client or business area to achieve ultimate success and strong results from you and your team.
• Partnership development:As a key resource for many business divisions, you will establish internal networks with different CWB groups.

Foundational knowledge and experience to grow from

• A Bachelor’s Degree in commerce, finance or accounting subject areas and have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in business banking, commercial lending, or related experience. You have a real passion for credit structuring, credit underwriting and risk management that runs through your veins. Your hard work ethic and credit writing acuity are the main attributes to your success and it’s your desire to succeed that makes you stand out amongst your colleagues.
