We’re looking for a Commercial Lines Senior Account Executive to join our award-winning Business Insurance division in service of our Greater Toronto Area Clients. The CD leverage their industry knowledge & experience to manage an assigned book of business and will also be responsible for growing the book through prospecting, conversion of internal referrals, and integrated selling opportunities.

What You’ll Do

  • Sell and service P&C insurance to prospective and existing clients by preparing specifications and marketing strategies for new business and renewals. Recommend new and additional coverages and obtain quotes for clients
  • Primarily operate within the primary client segment, territory assigned;
  • Working with other NFP units (including benefits and life insurance divisions) to develop and promote cross-market accounts, gain new accounts, and/or identify opportunities in an account territory
  • Stay well-informed of current industry trends and how NFP’s clients are being impacted to help solve specific market challenges.
  • Create presentations & proposals; respond to RFPs, secure competitive bids on insurance, re-proposing as necessary, and close sales
  • Work closely with the client service team to meet assigned goals and renewal targets. Ensure all team members are current on pending client issues including claims, changing needs, implementation of a service plan, and any other relevant matters
  • Build & maintain strong relationships with carriers employing sound reasoning and discretion in the placing of clients’ coverage
  • Participate in special assignments and projects as required

What You Bring

  • Typically, 10 years of Insurance industry sales & service experience
  • Insurance Broker’s license representing the coverages being sold (RIBO, AB General 1, etc.)
  • Knowledge of Commercial Lines insurance, industry trends, carrier products and services
  • Passion for sales & service; committed to delivering a top-notch client experience
  • Strong ability to negotiate terms and pricing in the best interests of the clients
  • Broad major market experience with extensive insurance carrier relationships
  • Self-managing with strong analytical, organizational, and prioritization skills with attention to the details
  • Team-Player with the ability to train and support department staff as necessary
  • Ability to express ideas clearly in both written and oral communications
  • Excellent Computer skills expected and EPIC fluency an asset
  • Commanding presentation and public speaking abilities
