The St. John’s Port Authority is Newfoundland and Labrador’s primary container terminal. The port services Newfoundland’s offshore oil & fishing industry’s, cruise ship industry, marine maintenance and repair.
THE ROLE
Duties & Responsibilities
The duties and responsibilities in this security-related role may include, but are not limited to:
- The security and safety of people, property, and information at the St. John’s Port Authority
- Access control
- Exterior patrols in all weather conditions
- Security system monitoring and alarm response
- Reporting writing
- Emergency management
- Radio use
APPLICANTS MUST
- Be professional, reliable and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment
- Be able to communicate effectively
- Be able to obtain a clear police conduct and security clearance through Transport Canada
- Be able to complete Commissionaire security officer course
- Be able to complete extended foot patrols
- First aid
- Basic computer skills
- Driver’s license
- Fully vaccinated
- Full availability
- Previous experience in law enforcement an asset
