Responsibilities

Reporting to the Public Health Manager, the Secretary II provides administrative support to the Public Health Manager and Public Health staff. The secretary is responsible, as part of a team, for the effective and efficient operation of the office on a day-to-day basis. Duties include but are not limited to: communicating effectively with Public Health staff, the general public, and outside agencies; typing; filing; reception duties; records management; supply requisitions in SAP; time entry in HRIS; and data entry in the Public Health databases.

Qualifications
  • Successful completion of post secondary education in a recognized Office Administration/Medical Secretarial Program
  • A minimum of five (5) years experience providing clerical services
  • Excellent technical skills specifically with WordPerfect and MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) as well as proficiency in preparing presentations and reports using graphic and presentation software
  • Consistently maintains confidentiality and demonstrate good judgment
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Must be able to work with a minimal amount of supervision
  • Training and experience in SAP and HRIS or willingness to learn
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours of Work
  • Permanent full-time position; 70 hours biweekly
Compensation and Incentives

$20.36 - $23.14 hourly
