Position Description and Opportunity

Cantrav is in search of a Sales and Operations Coordinator to contribute to achieving the organization’s annual targets and uphold Cantrav’s reputation. Reporting to the Manager of Destination Development in Alberta, you’ll collaborate with the team to craft innovative proposals and budgets primarily focused on the Rockies region, while also extending support to other destinations like Vancouver, Okanagan, Whistler, Montreal, Toronto, and Ottawa. This role entails developing creative program concepts, managing logistics, budgeting, product development, and supplier relations, all while ensuring effective time management and communication with partners, suppliers, and clients.

Additionally, the Coordinator will support the Sales Department by aiding regional managers in reaching revenue targets, cultivating demand for Cantrav’s services, and nurturing client relationships. Responsibilities include assisting with sales activities to expand market share, identify leads, and engage with industry stakeholders such as DMOs and hotels. This role also involves coordinating client visits, preparing presentations, proposals, and budgets.

In managing program operations and events, you will ensure the successful delivery of services to clients while maintaining fiscal responsibility. This includes liaising with clients and suppliers to oversee Cantrav’s operational projects effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Reports to the Manager, Destination Development, Alberta,
  • Provide assistance with proposal preparation under the direction of a Sales Manager or Program Design Manager.
  • Supporting the Sales Team and Operations Team on a day-to-day basis;
  • Supplier liaison
  • Client liaison as needed;
  • Plan, Develop and Ensure the successful execution of client programs when required;
  • Responsible for continually developing destination and logistical knowledge

Skills & Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:

  • Good oral, written and interpersonal skills;
  • Excellent budget creation and management skills
  • Self-motivated with a demonstrated ability to make decisions, manage logistics, multi-task, and meet project
  • deadlines;
  • Superior organization and communication skills, attention to detail as well as the ability to successfully manage changing priorities;
  • Ability to work with multiple suppliers and build long lasting relationships
  • Demonstrated experience producing high quality work and outcomes along with commitment to accuracy;
  • Demonstrated problem solving capabilities, organizing and budgeting skills;
  • Proficient computer skills (CRM, Excel, word processing, PowerPoint);
  • Knowledge of the Banff and Calgary areas is an asset;
  • Ability to learn job-related material primarily through oral instruction and observation which takes place mainly in an on-the-job training setting;
  • Availability to work evenings and weekends as business needs require;
  • Minimum 2 years’ event planning experience within the event industry
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle are required

Compensation

Total compensation is based on qualifications and experience and eligible for employee benefits starting from $42,000.00
