Job Description:

We are currently looking for a Safety Advisor with pipeline or integrity dig experience. This is a great opportunity to work on a 2 month steady project until completion. Must have and NCSO or CSO.


This is a temporary position from Sept 7 to Oct 31 2021 in Hay River, NWT. This will be working a 6 and 1 schedule with LOA. There is travel pay to and from Hay River.


What you’ll be doing:


  • Develop H&S Project Plans, Processes, procedures, Hazard Analysis & Safe Work Practices
  • Prepare reports on H&S activities (Daily & Weekly site reports, Monthly/Quarterly/Annual Inspections)
  • Provide Subject Matter Expertise on all governing H&S documentation (Client, Company, and Legislative)
  • Continually promote to employees and third-party sub-contractors the importance of Health Safety & Environment and ensure they are safety focused and conduct their business by our core values
  • Provide support, coordination, and technical expertise in the areas of environment, health and safety and support the site in training and developmental requirements.
  • WCB management in partnership with Human Resources
  • Assist management with incident investigation and reporting.
  • Interpret and advise employees on compliance as it relates to OHS and company standards.
  • Assist with incident investigations to ensure cause and corrective actions address


We’d love to hear from you if you have:


  • National Construction Safety Office (NCSO) OR CSO certification required.
  • Certification as a Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) considered an asset.
  • 5+ years dedicated full-time experience as a HSE practitioner in an industrial work environment.
  • Strong safety leaderships characteristics
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to adapt and learn
  • Knowledge/experience with HSE Management Systems and audit tools including: Alberta Partnerships Certificate of Recognition (COR).
  • Experience with safety plan development in heavy industrial settings
  • Safety tickets (CSTS, WHMIS)
