The Company
  • Cedar Heights Residential Living is a company with multiple Residential Programs throughout York and Simcoe Region. Cedar Heights Palmer home is looking for caring, enthusiastic, energetic and professional Residential Support Worker to work with young adults. Cedar Heights-Palmer is home to 8 individuals and specializes in those diagnosed with ASD and FASD. Cedar Heights Residential Living is a rapidly growing organization with opportunities for professional development.
  • Successful candidates will be required to have relevant education in Child and Youth, Social Service Work, PSW, and/or other related field.
  • We offer both on-site and off-site training.
  • Opportunities to participate in various workshops to further develop skills and knowledge on how to best support our residents.
The Position
  • We’re currently looking to fill the following positions:
  • Part-Time (Awake) overnight position. Hours/days may be flexible depending on availability.
  • Part-Time day, evening and weekend staff
Work Schedule
  • This location requires that the candidate be available on weekday evenings (3PM-11PM) and available to work every other weekend.
Requirements
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, Child and Youth Worker or other related field.
  • Criminal Reference Check with Vulnerable Sector.
  • $1,000,000 Liability Automobile Insurance.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Minimum two years experience in a related field.
  • C.P.I., and/or First Aid/C.P.R. and/or Medication/Pharmacology training is an asset.
Responsibilities
  • The Overnight Residential Support Worker provides hygiene and daily living support for all residents. Position entails cleaning, food preparation, room safety checks, and some clerical duties (ie; filing).
  • Daytime staff - Creating and implementing therapeutic programming with emphasis on life skills and personal development; Client Advocacy within and outside the agency; Familiarity and adherence to the organization’s core values and mission statement; Participation in Training and Workshops.
Successful candidates will be required to have open availability for shift work through out the day, evenings, some weekends (based on rotation) and occasional overnights (if needed)
