Your Opportunity:As a Research Officer I, you will be a key member of the provincial Addiction and Mental Health team working across multiple sites within the province with responsibility to enable evidence informed decision making and accountability within Addiction and Mental Health. You will bring a provincial perspective and provide support to a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders. Your support functions may include data analysis and reporting, planning, coordination, applied research and evaluation and report writing, and knowledge exchange. You may be required to support statistical analysis, planning, literature reviews, searches and e-scans, evaluation, and the creation of reports regarding a wide range of addiction and mental health related components.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of bachelor’s degree in a Social Science or a health related field. Research coursework or experience in application of standard qualitative and quantitative research methods.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Must have: Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills, verbal and written (including editing and proof-reading skills). Demonstrated research skills and ability to synthesize and analyze data. The ability to handle high volumes of work and prioritize tasks. Must be detail oriented and highly organized; must be able to meet deadlines, multi-task and be able to work with teams as well as independently with minimum supervision. Strong skills in computer applications including word processing, PowerPoint, Internet, Excel and statistical software (e.g. SPSS). Must be able to work individually or with a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
2-3 years of work experience preferred. Master’s degree preferred.
