The Opportunity

Provides technical support to mining customers and Wajax Sales and Operations team to ensure represented mining equipment and engines maintain best in class availability, reliability, and total cost of ownership.

The Role

• Promote a culture of safety including strict adherence to Wajax EH&S policies and procedures as well as those of the customer.
• Facilitate customer technical meetings w/ support form sales & operations team.
• Work with the customer and Wajax sales and operations teams to identify, lead development, and complete cost reduction initiatives related to supported products.
• Use root cause analysis (RCA) methodology to identify failure causes and develop solutions to support continuous improvement and reduced total cost of ownership (TCO).
• Liaise with OEM reliability engineers to drive resolution on standing product problems.
• Submit and manage CCMS cases in OEM platform as required.
• Liaise with the Wajax ERS team and other engineering resources as appropriate to develop mining component enhancements and alternative repair offerings.
• Facilitate downtime reconciliation meetings with customers as required.
• Review, approve, and submit availability report to OEM as required.
• Work with sales and operations team to identify areas of opportunity to improve reliability and expected life and/or reduce repair costs through reusability guidelines and alternative procedures for mining exchange components.
• Work with the sales and operations team to complete technical portions of new equipment requests for proposals (RFPs).
• Work with the sales and operations team on life cycle costing preparation for RFPs.
• Ensure that all assigned projects are delivered as, where, and when promised and that final product performs as specified.
• Build and monitor critical component reliability trends to identify bad actors and drive product improvements.
  

The Candidate

Education: B.S. in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mining Engineering

Work Experience:10+ years in mining equipment maintenance, repair, planning, and reliability.

Knowledge: Reliability engineering principles, mining equipment, maintenance planning, organization, strong computer skills
