Your Opportunity:

The Fort Saskatchewan Community Hospital is an acute care facility, located only 20 minutes northeast of Edmonton’s city limits. This stunning hospital opened its doors in 2012 and is continuously expanding the services provided to the growing community to ensure residents have access to the right care in the right place; close to home. Fort Saskatchewan boasts for being the first community hospital in northern Alberta with a simulation lab which has proven to enhance the quality of care provided and improve patient safety. The Fort Saskatchewan Community Hospital has a dynamic and busy operating room and endoscopy theater providing challenging experiences in the specialties of general surgery, endoscopy, ophthalmology, and obstetrics. We are looking for Registered Nurse to join our team of professionals. In this position, you will bear the responsibility and accountability to assess needs, plan for, implement, and evaluate nursing care for assigned patients and will participate in quality monitoring activities to improve outcomes. Please Note: On call may be required. Successful candidate is required to attend site within 30 minutes when on call.

Description:

As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Ability to perform consistently in a highly organized and rapid moving environment. Ability to collaborate within the expectations of an integrated team. Demonstrates advanced problem solving skills integrating critical thinking and good judgment. Demonstrates communication skills promoting respect and team spirit. Perioperative experience, recognized perioperative education, perioperative certification (CAN).
