This is accomplished across four geographic management zones which are responsible for the operation of acute care health centres and the provision of a variety of inpatient, outpatient services including academic, tertiary, quaternary care and community based programs and services including continuing care, primary health care, public health, and mental health and addictions.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Health Services Manager, the Registered Nurse works to full scope of practice as an independent practitioner within an inter-professional and collaborative team, providing holistic (addressing bio, psycho, social, cultural and spiritual needs), and comprehensive care for individuals, families, groups, populations and communities across the continuum of care. The RN provides leadership and applies advanced nursing knowledge within specific practice settings, and in-depth nursing knowledge, skills and judgment in providing care to all individuals (includes families, groups, populations and communities).

The RN ensures that the principles and practices that guide our work such as the mission, vision, values, expected behaviours, the leadership philosophy, organizational health, population health, ethics, safety, quality, partnerships and inter-professional collaboration are integrated within the services they provide and through the messages they deliver. The RN works to the scope of practice as outlined by the College of Registered Nurses Nova Scotia.

Qualifications
  • Graduate from an approved School of Nursing
  • Registered or eligible for registration with the Nova Scotia College of Nurses (NSCN)
  • Current BLS-C (HCP) certification
  • Minimum one (1) year nursing experience is an asset
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Evidence of ongoing relevant education
  • Demonstrated good interpersonal skills and ability to maintain good relationships with patients/residents, families and co-workers
  • Critical thinking skills
  • Demonstrated physical ability to perform the duties of the position
  • Good attendance and work record
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
Hours of Work
  • Full Time, Long Assignment; 75 hours bi-weekly x 3 positions
  • Commencing as soon as possible; Ending in October 2022
  • Dates are approximate and subject to change
Salary Information

$35.21 - $41.48 hourly

$42.94 hourly with 25 years’ nursing experience
